The Toy Museum of NY's Toy Exhibit combines the nostaglia of old toys with the modern amenities of working library. Established in 1999, the Museum operates as its own non profit organization, and the exhibit is open year-round inside the Brooklyn Heights Public Library or visit their charming seasonal exhibit a few blocks away at 157 Montague Street, 2nd Fl. On display are antique-modern dolls and toys.

The Scandinavian East Coast Museum
Established in 1993, the Scandinavian East Coast Museum is preserving the heritage and history of the Scandinavians who have been in Brooklyn for almost 400 years. The Museum has educational programs in libraries, walking tours of Sunset Park and Bay Ridge, and they sponsor an annual Scandinavian Celebration along the Brooklyn Waterfront and a Culture Day.

Coney Island History Project
The Coney Island History Project exhibits are displayed in a museum like setting under the Cyclone Roller Coaster. Historic artifacts and documentary material from Coney Island’s colorful past are on display. Visitors are invited to record their personal memories using the interactive video and photo booth. Waterfront Museum and Showboat Barge

Built between 1825 and 1831, Fort Hamilton became part of the Third System of Fortifications built throughout New York City. Today, the Harbor Defense Museum occupies Fort Hamilton’s caponier, a freestanding bastion located within the fort’s dry moat. Both structures are on the National Registry of Historic Places. Collections include United States Army weapons, uniforms, small arms, cannons and accoutrements from 18th century to present, and military themed art and historical items from Fort Hamilton. Character and adventure, panoramic views of the Statue of Liberty and NYC Harbor, The Waterfront Museum has it all! This secluded and romantic location is where the Lehigh Valley Barge #79, a wooden covered bard in Red Hook is located. In the 1940’s, there were more than 5,000 cargo barges in the NY Harbor. The #79 is the last one afloat, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
